Portrait

I introduce myself, Nadia Giger. I was born in Lucerne in 1974 and grew up there.

At the age of 18, I was already drawn to the wide world and I traveled to South America. For a year, I lived in the Bolivian Amazon and learned the language, traditions, and culture of the locals. Then I traveled to Brazil. In Sao Paulo, I met the love of my life and spent a total of 6 years in the big city.

Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by beautiful animals and especially horses. Owner of a horse that I cherished and cared for. After the death of my life partner, I returned to Switzerland. Back in Switzerland, I made a living working in the catering industry. With my new partner, we opened our own bar. I had an exciting time. My now 18 years old daughter is my pride and joy.

Inspiration

Every human being has more or less the ability to create images in his or her mind’s eye. This process is called imagination.

The term “imagination” is assigned to what is believed to be true, passed off as fact, and made as an assertion, without it being verified in relation to so-called reality.

However, the images that arise in our dreams and in our imaginations, i.e. on the extended level of reality, emit a certain energy that exerts its influence on the day-to-day reality.

My art

Came to artistic creation by chance: “One night I was scribbling on a piece of paper. Made quite a few lines and strokes. Due to lack of space, my hand wandered to the wall of the room. With a lot of momentum, I marked these, and it was a wild mess.”

At that time, I realized that I painted the wall with my left hand, even though I am actually right-handed. I painted for over 8 weeks, and the work changed continuously. I used my mobile phone to record the stages. “It was breathtaking, and every snapshot showed me something new.”

My paintings are different: different in the subjects, in the colors – but all of them are intense and full of energy. Motifs can include both life after death and the journey to the afterlife. His, but also the real existing world.

Other remarkable talents featured in HDAPPE’s vibrant collection:

I am a passionate artist and enjoy being creative with colors and other inspiring materials to create unique works of art. I am very happy when I can bring some color into people’s lives.

I also want to do something good by selling my artworks, and therefore I’m donating part of the proceeds to a good cause: “A loving home for street dogs”.

I am Arturs, or art created by Urs.

I love to express myself and my view on life and society in art. Maybe my background influences the way I paint, always conceptual and not just l’art pour l’art. With a few exceptions as always in life.

Enjoy my work and visit me anytime in Wald.

Yannick William Assiedou

Brussels-based artist, self-taught Yannick William Assiedou uses the abstract as a means of expression.
Ivorian, he left his country young to discover the world.

This is reflected in his work, inspired by the biodiversity of our planet combined with the multiple facets of human perception.

Thanks to bold colourful work, he questions the expression and sensation of deep emotions.

Nagy Gyula artist photo

I am Gyula Nagy, a visual artist living and creating in Tápiószőlős.

Even as a small child, I was interested in two things: drawing and music. I was self-taught in various fine art groups where I received professional instructions from excellent artists (János Kapcsa, Éva Nagy, Árpád Bényi).

I had several significant exhibitions individually and collectively in Hungary.

Bari Jano artist photo

Bari Janó showed an early passion for painting. From age 14 to 18, he lived in a reformatory in Zalaegerszeg, where he earned an agricultural qualification but continued to explore art. Since his debut in the late 1970s, he has dedicated himself to painting and now lives and works in Vác, Hungary with his family.

Initially drawn to landscapes, he was later influenced by Salvador Dalí’s surrealism. An experimental artist, he developed a unique style, creating sculptures with materials like feathers, cloth, and metal. His favorite color, brown, reflects his Romani heritage and symbolizes resilience and transformation.

Janó has exhibited widely, showing his abstract landscapes, religious and figurative works, and still lifes across multiple venues. His art is held in collections from Greece to America, and he actively encourages young artists to showcase their work in community spaces.
